Treatment Instructions

Pre & Post Care

  • Brow tattoos normally last 1-3 years depending on client’s lifestyle, skin type and aftercare
  • Exposure to the sun and tanning beds can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment
  • Always apply sunscreen (50 SPF or greater) on brow area once completely healed
  • Maintain removal of unwanted brow hair outside of your tattooed brow design by tweezing, threading, waxing or razoring
  • Do not laser around your brow area (IPL)
  • Some lasers may change the color of the pigment
  • Additional brow makeup application may still be required post tattoo to achieve your desired look
  • For further sun protection wear hats and sunglasses
  • Yearly touchups are recommended to maintain your results
  • Avoid using chemical skin exfoliates on the brows and forehead area. Use of these products will cause premature fading and tattoo discoloration.

Eyebrow precare

We strongly advise prospective new clients to book their microblading appointments at least 3- 4 months in advance of vacations, weddings, and special occasions. This allows adequate time for healing of both your initial microblading appointment as well as a touch-up enhancement session 8-12 weeks prior. To have perfect brows it is a multi-step process. Dream brows cannot be achieved in just one session. Some clients need more than two sessions to achieve their desired density and shape.

Eyebrow Care

Pre & Post care

  • Swelling: Moderate to severe swelling, depending on how you respond to crying. If you swell after crying, expect some swelling following procedure, generally for the first few mornings.
  • Sleep propped up or on your back to reduce swelling.
  • A sealed ice bag can be lightly applied for the first 2 days. DO NOT PRESS ICE BAG AGAINST EYES!
  • Day After Procedure: Wash eyes the first morning following the procedure with mild soap and water. Rinse well and pat dry lightly. After which eye area should avoid contact with water for 5-7 days.
  • On the 4th day from the date of the procedure, use a Q-tip to apply a tiny amount of Vaseline, once daily for 4 days. Wipe any excess with a clean Q-tip. If you can see it, you have applied too much!
  • Avoid Until Healed: Avoid eye creams, night creams, moisturizers, Retin-A, lash tinting, lash extensions and false lashes for 8 weeks. Avoid getting Vaseline in your eye as this can invite an infection.
  • Symptoms or Signs of Infection: Eyelid may have a slight pink or redness above eyeliner immediately following the procedure.
  • Eyeball should not be red! You must seek medical attention immediately if you see signs of bloodshot eyes or puss in the corners of your eye/eyes. This may be an infection, requiring a physician and prescribed medication.

Tanning will lighten any pigmented area over time, so use a sunblock 30+ when tanning. It is best to fully cover your cosmetic tattoo with a hat once you have healed to avoid premature fading. Failure to follow pre and post-treatment may cause loss of pigment, discoloration or infection.

EYELINER POST CARE

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Vitamin C or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure
  • Avoid Fish Oil, Primrose Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc.), “Hair, Skin, Nail” supplements at least 48 hours prior to procedure

Xquisite will NOT perform Permanent Makeup on any clients who are or have:
  • Pregnant or Nursing
  • Diabetic
  • Viral infections and/or diseases
  • Epilepsy
  • A pacemaker or major heart problems
  • Had an organ transplant
  • Tendency towards keloids or scarring

  • Extremely oily or problematic skin

In order for your cosmetic permanent makeup to heal properly and look it’s best, Pre and Post Care instructions found below are of the utmost importance! Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service. Excessive bleeding during the procedure will dilute the pigment color and lead to poor results.

All permanent cosmetic procedures are a multi-session process. You are required to come back for at least one touch-up visit before it can be determined that your work is complete. Be prepared for the initial color intensity of your procedure to be significantly sharper, brighter, or darker than what is expected for the final outcome. It will take time for the transition based upon how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.

While these tattooed colors may initially stimulate the exact color and tone desired, they will not always remain a perfect match. Tattooed colors are constant, while your own skin color will vary depending on exposure to cold, heat, sun and circulatory changes.

  • Have no prior cosmetic tattooing or permanent makeup
  • Not donate blood for 1 year following your makeup service (per Red Cross.)

Eyeliner Care

Pre & Post care

  • Lipstick is worn topically on the skin. Lip permanent makeup is implanted/viewed under the skin. During the healing process the lip pigments used will revert back to their original state, which is a powder Lip tattooing does not replace makeup! In fact, it is advised to wear some type of lip gloss to enrich the color tattooed. Lips will vary in color on a daily basis and change color during the day, even if we are well hydrated or not.
  • Right after the procedure lips normally feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. Lips will feel better each day. Should anything occur that has not been addressed, please call us immediately.
  • Swelling: Moderate. An ice bag can be applied for the first few hours and next morning. Apply Vaseline and then a tissue to prevent condensation from the bag of ice touching lips.
  • Day After Procedure: Keep them moist using Q-tip and Vaseline for 14 days. Peeling will occur – Do not peel off!
  • Lips tend to fade 60% and color can hide for a 4-week period before resurfacing.

  • Avoid until healed: Avoid soaps, facial cleansers, and water on pigmented area. Wash around the lips only.
  • Extended wear lipsticks or plumping gloss

  • Do not touch the healing pigmented area with your fingers, they may have bacteria on them and create an infection.
  • Apply after care ointment or cream (such as After Inked, H2Ocean or Ink Fixx) daily. Always use a clean cotton swab and not your fingertips.
  • No make-up, sun, soap, sauna, Jacuzzi, swimming in chlorine pools or in the recreational bodies of water, contact with animals, gardening for 7-10 days, (until area is completely healed) post procedure and after all touch-ups.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in pigment color loss!

Scalp Micropigmentation Post Care

  • Wash your scalp with a non-abrasive, gentle shampoo the week prior to your procedure. If experiencing breakouts on your scalp we are not a medical establishment so we are not allowed to suggest what to use for any problems or disorders. Instead consult with a dermatologist or appropriate medical doctor to resolve this issue prior to your procedure.
  • After washing the scalp, moisturize the skin with some form of skin moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. Doing so will allow the ink to be properly absorbed.
  • Refrain from sun tanning to avoid burning and peeling of the skin.
  • Focus on relaxing and get a good nights rest before your procedure.
  • Eat a hearty meal before your procedure.
  • If you are extremely sensitive to pain, seek medical advise prior to procedure.
  • You may bring a clean hat or scarf to loosely cover your head after the treatment, if so desired, but not recommended.
  • Hair Piece – Please do not wear a hair piece at least 5-7 days prior to your scheduled procedure. As wearing a hair piece may limit oxygen flow to the scalp and the ink may not be fully absorbed into the follicle.
  • Hair Length – Please contact your artist prior to the procedure to discuss proper hair length the day of the scheduled procedure.
  • Hair Preparation – Please do not use a razor on your scalp within 24 hours of the scheduled procedure. It is critical that we see all native hair in order to properly blend the hair follicles.
  • A healthy scalp will be helpful in achieving the best results.

SIX WEEKS BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
  • Discontinue waxing, hair removal creams or chemicals, tweezing and electrolysis, as well as bleaching your hair.

TWO WEEKS BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
  • Avoid incidental or direct sun, tanning beds, spray-tans and self-tanners. If you are out and about, apply sunblock (with at least SPF 50) and use barrier protection such as wide-brimmed hats, large sunglasses and protective clothing.
  • IF YOU HAVE RECENT SUN EXPOSURE, PLEASE CALL US TO RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.

DAY BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
  • Shave the area being treated.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL POST CARE
  • You may continue to shave as needed, but continue to avoid waxing, bleaching, plucking or anything that will pull your hair follicles out. Your hair will likely start to grow back in four weeks (face and neck) or six weeks (body), but after several treatments, that hair will typically be softer, finer and less dense. It is important to stay consistent with each treatment and complete your entire package for the best hair reduction results possible.

STAY OUT OF THE SUN
  • We strongly recommend you avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of three days after your treatment, and always apply sunblock with SPF 50+ to the treated area any time you are outside. Also, use barrier protection such as wide-brimmed hats, large sunglasses and protective clothing.
